RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Aug 2023 - present
Project details: The mechanisms by which Dormant Cancer cells (DCC) survive and later proliferate are poorly understood. We are investigating the hidden links between EMT (Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition) and DCC. Also, I led and contributed to various diverse projects of the lab.
Advisor: Dr. Mohit Kumar Jolly (IISc)
Collaborative work:
Duke Comparative Oncology Group, Duke Cancer Institute, Durham, USA
Projects details:
➜ The therapy resistance to prostate cancer is a global concern, and it is mediated by diverse mechanisms. The experimental group investigated the EMT-mediated hormone therapy resistants. I performed the meta-analysis of RNA-seq data and calculated the nature of EMT.
➜ I was part of exploring ELF3 transcription factors and their associated EMT with computational approaches.
Advisors: Dr. Jason Somarelli (Duke), Dr. Mohit Kumar Jolly (IISc)
Oct 2021 – Jul 2023
Project details: AIDS, is one of the serious health problems in the world. I have identified a unique class of anti-HIV molecules against Protease and RT mutations of HIV-1 & 2. Through diverse interdisciplinary approaches.
Advisor: Dr. K Sekar (IISc)
Aug 2019 -Sep 2021
Project details: The activation of the fibrinolytic system is important in vascular hemostatic mechanisms and intense tissue damage. We studied structures of key protein targets, then screened potential compounds using various computational tools and M.D Simulation
Advisors: Dr. K Sekar (IISc), Dr. Prosenjit Sen (IACS)
Sept 2019-Sep 2021
Project details: Cancer cells avoid immune surveillance by overexpressing negative immunologic regulators. Targeting immunologic regulators is a very significant aspect. We have discovered novel small molecule inhibitors against PD-L1 structural and performed in vitro and in vivo evaluations.
Advisor: Dr. Prosenjit Sen
Sept 2020-Sep 2021
Project details: The heavy metals and microbial contaminants in water bodies are a great threat to the environment and human health. We have designed two economic materials
(i) A Cu-based absorbent for heavy metals removal
(ii) A novel Ca-MOF for dual action against heavy metals and microbial contaminants removal
Advisors: Dr. Suresh Gupta, Dr. Jitendra Panwar
Jun 2018 - Jul 2019
Project details: I explored phytochemical constituents of various plants and investigated anti-microbial effects in leaves of Bauhinia species
Advisors: Dr. Eshwaraiah G, Late Dr. Harish R Bhat (IISc)
May 2012 - Jul 2013
